CHIRIQUI
PROVINCE
Is located along the border with Costa
Rica on the Pacific rim of the country. Home to El Volcán
Barú, a dormant volcano
whose
elevation is 11,401 ft. above sea level. The igneous nature
of the area produces excellent rivers for whitewater rafting,
rock formations for climbing and rapelling and beatiful
scenery for hiking. The center of our operations in the
province is the town of Boquete,
known for its beautiful scenery and weather.
COCLE POVINCE
Located to the west of the province of Panama, Coclé is
known
for its beaches and weekend homes. As with most of the western
part of the country, Coclé has both coastland and
highlands within an hour of each other.
Rising 1,900 ft above sealevel is El Valle de Antón,
a village located inside the crater of an old volcano, which
also serves as our headquarters in the province.
The province's main river is Río Grande
whose volcanic surroundings make this one of the most beautiful
locations in the country, as well as a great whitewater
rafting and kayaking source.
PANAMA PROVINCE
The province of Panama is home to the capital city as well
as the Panama Canal. As such is the most populated
and modern of the country. The canal area is surrounded
by a
protected
area known as the watershed, whic contains some of the densest
rainforests in the country, perfect for hiking and exploring.
The canal itself
offers some of the best places for fishing,
boating
and watersports. In the center of the waterway there are
islands of tremendous biodiversity and some have been used
by the Smithsonian Institue for research dating back decades.
Part of the coastline of the province is covered by mangroves.
The area known as
Chame
combines these beatufiful mangroves against a backdrop of
mountains and and ocean.
On the atlantic
side of the province are various old spanish forts and towns
that date back centuries. The islands in this area are excelent
for scuba diving and fishing.
